Educational Coordinator

Daphne E. Figueroa, Ph.D.

I’ve always been fascinated by the natural world. But in my youth, I never imagined I would become a scientist. Then, in college, I fell in love with chemistry. But, learning chemistry didn’t come easily, so I used every resource and strategy I could find.  That’s how I discovered the power of using the right learning approach.

As a chemistry professor, I didn’t take the normal stick-to-chemistry road.  I shared those same strategies with others and was gratified to see their “aha!” moments. I’m a STEM educator — which simply means I help students understand science and math through clear explanations, hands‑on strategies, and brain‑friendly learning approaches that build confidence and independence.
